The Fall of the House of Usher Essay Example for Free
The declivity of the House of lead EssayThe narrator is a very altruistic character in The Fall of the House of Usher. He genuinely cargons about Rodrick, even though his friend is slightly mentally insane, which creates a very complex kin betwixt the souls. Although the narrator initially intends to save Roderick from his own demise, he was forced to reject Rodrick as Mr. Usher was the source of his own torment. The narrator originally earnestly desires to go to Rodricks house. In the textual matter, the narrator talks of Rodrick as having an earnest desire to see me, as his best, and indeed his only personal friend, with a view of attempting, by the cheerfulness of my society, some alleviation of his malady (Poe 1). The narrator uses the words desire, cheerfulness, and friend to describe how Rodrick contacts him. The word choice that the narrator uses can be grouped together as happy words, just like in a usual relationship. The happiness proves that the narrator still be lieves that him and Rodrick are friends, even though he has not met Rodrick in years and that he wants to save Mr. Usher from his own demise. However, Rodrick quickly forces the narrator to lose his aura of happiness. Rodrick unnerves the narrator throughout the text to the point where the narrator gave up on Rodrick, which is apparent through the use of disheartening words. In the text, the narrator describes Rodrick as having A cadaverousness of complexion an eye large, liquid, and luminous beyond comparison (Poe 2).The usage of the word cadaverousness alludes to death, and the usage of luminous makes Mr. Usher seem mysterious. Mysteriousness and death are common words to portray someone beyond repair. By using this kind of wording, Poe is revealing the narrator is disgusted by the new Rodrick. The disgust leads the narrator to rejection. The narrator is rejecting of Rodrick. In the text, the narrator states His action was alternately vivacious and sullen. His voice varied rapid ly from a tremulous indecision hich may be observed in the lost drunkard, or the irreclaimable confluent of opium (Poe 2).Poe uses the words tremulous, drunkard, and opium to describe Rodrick. A synonym for tremulous is quavering, which is a word that describes a voice during a lie. Opium and drunkard are words related to addictive vices, which cause people to lie. Lying causes people to not trust the liar, which leads to rejection. The rejection allows the narrator to let his witting remain free.To keep his conscious alive, he has to rid himself of the dirtiness. The narrator must wipe his hands clean of Rodrick to be able to continue living. The narrator realizes that Rodrick is the source of his own problems. In the text, it states But, as I placed my hand upon his shoulder, there came a strong shudder over his whole person a peaked(p) smile quivered about his lips and I saw that he spoke in a low, hurried, and gibbering murmur, as if unconscious of my presence.Bending clos ely over him, I at length drank in the hideous import of his words (Poe 6). The diction used has much hurt and anguish. The hurt exists because the narrator notices that his friend is doomed. The narrator also uses the words shudder, hideous, and sickly to describe how Rodrick acts. The word choice that the narrator uses emphasizes that Rodrick is doomed. The pain of seeing his best friend in this situation would force any reasonable man, such as the narrator, to wipe his hands clean. The narrator originally intends to save Rodrick, but once he sees what state Rodrick is in, he realizes all hope is lost. He is sincerely pleased to see Rodrick when the letter first comes and believes that their relationship will be like it once was, until he met Rodrick in person. He cares about Rodrick, but realizes that Mr. Usher is doomed. He is disgusted by the new Rodrick and rejects him. He understands he must wipe his hands clean. The narrator has a very intricate relationship with his old fr iend Rodrick Usher.

Effects of Hospital-Based Smoking Cessation Interventions
Effects of Hospital-Based Smoking Cessation InterventionsThe Effects of Hospital-Based Smoking Cessation Interventions on 10-Year MortalityAmong Adult Smokers 18-64Eline van den Broek1 Setting up the Research DesignsBackgroundTobacco use is the leading preventable cause of disease, disability, and death in the United States CDC, 1. It is estimated that cig argontte sens results in to a greater extent than 480,000 unseasonable deaths and approximately 8.6 million Americans live with a serious illness caused by smoking 2. Research has established smoking causes various serious diseases such as cancers, lung diseases such as chronic bronchitis and emphysema, and increases in the risk of heart disease, including stroke, heart attack, vascular disease, and aneurysm 3-37. Various studies, including RCTs, cohort and case-control studies, concluded that openhandeds who peck die earlier than nonsmokers 3-37. Reversely, researchers stool also found that preventing deaths caused by smoki ng would lead to substantial gains in life expectancy 38-41.While we have equanimous extensive information about tobacco use as a major cause of many of the worlds top killer diseases, trusty for the death of about 1 in 10 adults worldwide 42, less is known about the effects of diverse smoking hitch programs on death rate and life expectancy. Successful smoking cessation interventions almost certainly result in major gains, both in reducing smoking-related illnesses and potencyly in preventing premature deaths 43. The more turn up we have on what type of programs are most effective in smoking cessation, the easier it would be to address the crucial public health and policy question whether these programs are desirable in the context of avoidable deathrate. Also, since most studies have focused on comparing smokers to non-smokers, we need more evidence about the effect of different interventions among smokers only.In Colorado, over 900,000 residents currently smoke, with the highest rates among young adults aged 18 to 24 years (28.2%). In 2000, 52.8 percent of adult smokers in Colorado made quit attempts of at least one day. 44 Researchers in the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) have decided to implement a smoking cessation intervention, including bedside consultation with follow-up therapy and free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). 45 The objective of this study is to determine the effect of this UCH-initiated intervention on 10-year mortality. The aim is to implement hospital systems depart to improve yardbird tobacco dependence treatment. 45 Most of the literature involving smoking cessation interventions is related to outpatient interventions. Some studies have focused on the effect of yardbird smoking cessation interventions and rehospitalization. 46 Our study will contribute to that body of literature, foc utilize rather on an inpatient smoking cessation intervention and its effect on 10-year mortality.Research Questions and HypothesesRe search QuestionDoes a hospital-initiated smoking cessation intervention predict lower 10-year mortality rate?HypothesisWe hypothesize that the hospital-based intervention to supercharge tobacco using inpatients to quit smoking has a significant lowering effect on 10-year mortality rate.H0 There is no significant effect of the UCH inpatient smoking cessation intervention and 10-year mortalityHa There is a significant effect of the UCH inpatient smoking cessation intervention and 10-year mortality adjourn virgule is a classic form of information mold we will not collect the correct information, because the subjects in the study report past events in a manner that is different between the two study groups case-control. Since our study will be backwards in directionality, it would in general be more prone to information and recall bias. This happens, for instance, if our cases and controls will differentially recall intervention, related smoking behavior, or any other variables that we include in the model that are based on self-reported data, so that inaccurate recall is related to characteristics of the exposure of interest and of the respondents. Yet in our case, the most important information is collected using information recorded in the electronic medical record, so we will are less worried about this type of bias in our design. Interviewing technique and the study protocol, including the design of questionnaires and the motivation of respondents, play a central role and are under the control of the investigator. 130Even though we think that our ensureing handle will limit confounding bias, we still may deal with the issue that the influence of one intervention is mixed with the effect the other. For example, the intervention may have led to other healthy lifestyles, such as less alcohol use or more exercise. This would be less relevant in our case, however, because we are really interested in the effect of the intervention on mortality. If the interve ntion has positive effects on other healthy behaviors, that will not bias our conclusions. In case-control studies, natural selection bias can occur in the selection of cases if they are not representative of all cases within the population, or in the selection of controls if they are not representative of the population that produced the cases. 131 It could be that cases and/or controls are selected on criteria related to the intervention, for example they are selected differentially on the basis of their intervention or there may be differences in reporting of which intervention they received between cases and controls. We may have a concern with selection bias in our study design, because both the intervention and the outcome have occurred by the time the patient is recruited into the study. The (internal and external) validity of a case-control study depends on the representativeness of controls. 132,133 The controls need to be a representative sample of the study population from which the cases are drawn during the study period. Since we will use a computer generated pool of controls, they will be randomly selected to minimize bias. We do expect some issues with consenting the controls and expect that we will have to use second or third drawn controls to match with some of the cases. Generally, hospital controls are often more easily accessible and tend to be more cooperative than population based controls. 50 A blemish of drawing from a hospital population is that we will have an issue with the external validity of the study. The question remains whether we will be able to guess the results from the UCH-based population to other inpatient interventions or even more broadly a population based intervention.4.8 Study StrengthsAmong the strengths of a case-control study are the concomitant that they are generally relatively inexpensive, they are short-term studies to conduct (so cheaper and quicker) they are efficient designs for rare diseases or for studi es with a lagged outcome like mortality in 10 years and they can be powerful with small samples of cases. While the 12 matching design is intended to eliminate confounding, the main potential benefit of matching in case-control studies is a gain in efficiency. We do need to note that since we currently design the study and the intervention(s) still need to deport place, we will have to wait for 10 years to measure the effect on mortality. But as mentioned, another advantage of a case-control study is that they are typically feasible to obtain sufficient numbers of cases when studying rare diseases or diseases with a long latency period, like in our case mortality in 10 years. We will thus require a smaller sample size than with other designs and we can still evaluate the effect of the different types of interventions. The fact that we have the ability to use multiple controls of the same type has the advantage of increasing the studys power.

Fedex Competitors Analysis and Customer Retention Strategies
Fedex Competitors Analysis and Customer Retention StrategiesIntroductionIt is app bent from FedEx Corporations (FedEx) shroud volume of success it is clearly a leader in the intentness. ranked the worlds 1 crush out transportation comp whatever with 3 million sh ars delivered daily, FedEx surely roll in the hays what it is doing to keep the business developing and prosperous (Williams 2005). However, homogeneous most businesses these long time, there atomic number 18 ceaselessly trials and tribulations. Important decisions must be made everyday, it is critical that quick thinking and a clearly defined method of trading operations dealment must be followed to keep things running smoothly. Of course, the true test to whether or not a solid operations management flow is in place is how the friendship is able to deal with the out of the blue(predicate). This brief will examine who makes up FedExs complete customer shank and how the company attempts to satisfy and retain i ts customers. As well, the risks taken in day to day business will be evaluated coupled with the manner FedEx is able to manage the chances it must often take. An otherwise item for discussion is the impact of sudden demand for the industry and specific all(prenominal)y for FedEx. Finally, FedExs authorize competitors will be studied, deliberation strengths and weaknesses of each company. An evaluation will be presented as to how FedEx would fair if one of its main competitors would try to win a valued client based on the strength and weaknesses outlined. The CustomersAs with most successful businesses, FedEx is aware that it has a variety of different customers, including internal and external. Both external and internal customers need to be well-off with the performance of the company to keep things on track. Reviewing the importance of some(prenominal) external and internal customers is critical. The internal customer for FedEx is obviously its own employees. 250,000 strong in 2005 with a 27 percent harvest-time rate from 2004 shows that FedEx is growing quickly (Williams, 2005) and that type of developing needs to be managed appropriately. To maintain employee satisfaction, FedEx offers a competitive salary, fair running(a) conditions, and the ability to climb the corporate ladder if desired. Employees boast of their success at FedEx and their true delight at working for this company throughout the company website (Fed Ex bon ton Website 2005).Externally, there a few more customers to consider including corporate, consumer, shareholders and stakeholders. somatic clients, including Dell and Hewlett Packard, expect their products to be delivered on time and in good condition. As well, consumer clients expect to receive their products on time and in good condition. Shareholders, since FedEx is a public company, expect profits to be up and costs to be down. Finally, stakeholders are those people affected by the corporate actions of FedEx. Are its operat ions interfering with something in the community? Are its airplanes breaking noise ordinances? The bottom line is that the customers for FedEx are many and their needs are different so FedEx must consider the management of its operations from many angles. The risksThere are many risks that one of FedExs packages not to arrive at its intended destination on time including unexpected volumes, weather, misrouting, and bottlenecks at customs. Luckily, FedEx has put into place the appropriate controls to prevent a crack of any package. As mentioned earlier, in efforts to prevent the loss of clients, FedEx has adopted policies and practices that have proven successful. To address the issue of unexpected volumes and weather problems, FedEx has built in kind of a bit of redundancy into its systems. Its contingency planning is superior with proactive monitoring of weather and air traffic. As well, directors stay in close parley each day to plan, always staying one step ahead of the game. Ad ditionally, FedEx actually has multiple hubs across the world in the case that packages need to be redirected. The mechanisation of the sorting process keeps packages that are misrouted to a bare minimum. Packages that need special customs attention are also proactively reported to local authorities so there is minimal opportunity for those packages to slow the process. Even with these modern forms of automation in place, FedEx still prides itself on providing a homo touch and treating each package as a golden package(FedEx lodge Website 2005).Of course, if packages are delayed or do not ship to the accurate address, the company runs the risk of losing clients. Corporate clients can decide to take their contracts elsewhere and consumers will lose their feelings of loyalty if FedEx does not deliver the service it promised. FedExs philosophy of Absolutely, Positively, Whatever it takes (FedEx Company Website 2005) as discussed on its website is a direct reflection of what FedEx is wi lling to do to get the job done. In the unfortunate case where something goes awry with a package, FedEx also wants it customers to k straight off there is a place to go for help and someone available at the end of the line to help work through issues. Indeed, FedEx offers many online tools to track packages as well as a phone number with live support staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (FedEx Company Website 2005).The effects of sudden demandThe effects of an unexpected and sudden demand increase can be challenging for any company. In not managed correctly, a myriad of problems can result in the express service industry. This is a direct result of the company not be able to inventory products when the demand arises (Melnyk Denzler 1996 p.447).Specific issues that can arise when sudden demand occurs include new-fangled shipments, incorrect shipments, bottlenecks, scheduling difficulties, cost increases, and capacity issues. Externally, late or incorrect shipments affect the customer relationship and have a negative impact on future business. Internally, bottlenecks can cause major issues in making shipment deadlines. In addition, without appropriate notice, staffing can be off and there can be inadequate human resources available to meet the unexpected demand. Directly, if staff needs to be scheduled at the last minute, there is a good chance that overtime wages will be unavoidable and costs can skyrocket. Finally, capacity issues are created by the unexpected demand and lack of equipment to actually transport the redundant packages.Overall, to regulate unexpected demand, the operations manager needs to focus on mastery of forecasting coupled with having a flexible base of resources (Melnyk Denzler 1996 p.448). Luckily, FedEx is well positioned with its contingency plans. Like David Rebholz, executive vice-president of FedExs US operations and systems states Ni illuminatey percent of the package flow is predictable but that other 10 per cent can really throw you. All FedEx, like any other company, can do is have the procedures in place to manage that 90 percent perfectly and have the contingency plans to deal with the other 10 percent when it happens. The CompetitionAccording to a modern article in the World Trade publication (The Big Three UPS, FEDEX and DHL 2005 p.20), FedEx, UPS, and DHL are referred to as the big three in the express service industry. Another formidable competitor in this securities industry space is trinitrotoluene Logistics. To consider what type of affright each one of these competitors may pose to FedEx, it is important to review each of its competitors strengths and weaknesses as well as their market positions. Specifically, it is important to canvass each companys history, leadership, market presence, and potential for future appendage.UPS reportThe United Parcel Service (UPS) began in 1907 as the American Messenger Company and has crossd to grow and flourish every since (UPS Company Website 2005). The companys ability to continually reinvent themselves to fit the markets needs has kept them at the top of its game.leadersMichael Eskew, the catamenia Chairman and CEO for UPS, has been at the guide in his current post since 2003. Although relatively new in this leadership role, he has served with the company since 1972 as a faithful and forward thinking employee. Ninety percent of the company is owned by managers, employees, founders, and families. This ensures that those with a vested interested in the company are represented from the front lines to upper management (UPS Company Website 2005).Market PresenceUPS has established itself as the largest package delivery company in the world. To grow its express delivery services, it recently purchased Overnight and is also committed to provide its customers a full line of supply chain management services.Potential for future growthAs mentioned, UPS has a strong history of positioning itself for growth during times of change and shifts in the securities industry. Last year, employee growth was 8.2% and Net Sales Growth was 9.2% (Williams, 2005).DHLHistoryThirty Five years ago in 1969, DHL Worldwide Network took shape as the low cost delivery service as it entered the marketplace and attempted to carve a niche for itself as the low cost provider. Since then, the company has been working hard to gain new customers and convince them that with lower costs, theatrical role need not be sacrificed (Hannon 2005). From the conk out, DHL has committed itself to providing what it customers need. As early as the 1970s, the company realized that the globalization of trade was playing a key gene in the current business climate and adapted itself to be able to provide the services required for success in the international arena.LeadershipDr. Klaus Zumwinkel, current Chairman of the Board, is leading the way to establish DHL as a premier service with the highest quality at competitive monetary values (DH L Company Website 2005).Market PresenceRanked as the world leader in cross border express deliveries, DHL is spreading its wings to capture even more of the delivery services market. orbit its sights on winning more of the ground delivery business, it recently acquired Airborne. In addition, DHL seems to be stepping it up a notch in focusing on its human touch for customers as Karen Johns reports, customers say we are much more responsive, flexible and human to deal with (Hein 2005).Potential for future growthAnother company that seems positioned as ready for growth, DHLs net sales grew by 21.6 percent last year season the employee count grew by 7% (Williams 2005).TNTHistoryThomas across the country Transport (TNT) began sticker in 1946 as the first express delivery service. In the 80s, the company began to offer more logistical services as they mute the market demand for it. In the 90s, the company also began to offer supply chain solutions and looked to establish themselves a s innovators in the total supply chain arena (TNT Company Website 2005).LeadershipDave Kulik, Group Managing Director, is at the forefront of leading the company with new ideas in the supply chain and express delivery services industry. Leadership in the company seems to embrace advancement from within and reflects a true commitment to employee growth through many initiatives, including Investors in People ( TNT Company Website 2005).Market PresenceAlthough TNT offers only about 1/6 the sales numbers of its major competitors like DHL, UPS, and Fed Ex, their customer list is impressive. A key to TNTs focused success is the targeting of specific industries. Their client list includes big users such as BMW, GM, and Proctor and Gamble (TNT Company Website 2005).Potential for future growthAlthough TNT appears to be flexible in adding new products and services to offer its client base, it does not seem to be as aggressive in earning additional market segments as some of its competitors. H owever, for the last six years, the company has recorded 22% revenue growth each year (TNT Company Website 2005). In addition, back in 2004, TNT launched a $115 billion, six-year improvement program to keep its business up to speed (Keane 2004).FedExHistoryFrederick W Smith had the vision for FedEx while attending Yale back in 1965. His dream became a reality in 1973 when the company first became incorporated (Journal of commerce Strategy 1988, pp.15-21).LeadershipFedExs master founder is still the CEO, Chairman, and President of the company. Since the beginning, Smith has positioned FedEx as the industry standard setter and has given all others a bar to reach for in terms of overall performance.Market PresenceFedEx is the 1 express transportation company in the world and continues to grow and diversify. Its recent purchase of Kinkos has helped to expand its retail presence as well as the supply chain management services it can provide to its customers.Potential for future growth FedEx has enjoyed exponential growth each year since the beginning and has always been able to manage the growth with ease. Last year alone, FedEx supported an 18.8% boost in sales and a flip-flop in employees of 27.7% (Williams 2005).How does FedEx measure against the Competition? After review of FedEx and its main competitors, it is interesting to consider what may happen if one of its competitors would try to win clients from its customer base. Cleary, FedEx is a strong player in its field but the competition is fierce. In a competitive bid against its foes, FedEx would need to go on the offense, highlighting all of its attributes that make it stand out above and beyond. The best sales pitch is always a positive one, focusing on your companys strengths quite than bad mouthing the competition. In an effort to keep important client relationships, FedEx could highlight the followingIts original visionary and founder is still at the helm and directing the company that is still consid ered the industry standard setter.FedEx is the 1 express transportation company with sales revenue growth of 18.8% over last year, and net income growth 72.9% over last year (Williams 2005).FedExs commitment to do Absolutely, Positively Whatever it takes to keep the customer satisfied. Its positive track record in the industry and ability to adapt to meet the growing needs of its client base (i.e. the purchase of Kinkos). The commitment FedEx has to not only deliver on time but to treat each package like a golden package. In the case that questions arise regarding a delivery, there is always live support staff ready and available to field phone calls from consumers. Of course, packages can always be tracked on line.A competitive price offered for a competitive service with high quality standards. It appears that FedEx and UPS are both making plays to meet the end customers needs from both ends of the spectrum. FedEx got its start with the idea to guarantee delivery of overnight packages anywhere in the US. UPS, however, ramped up as a company focusing on ground deliveries. Both now are trying to get a piece of the others pie, and both are attempting to do it through acquisitions (DNS Retailing Today 2005, pp35-37).Many analysts and recent articles have placed FedEx and UPS in a direct competition for each others market space. In the article Can FedEx Deliver More Than UPS?, it is reported that both companies are projected to do very well but there is a belief that FedEx will do better (Tsao 2005). Specifically, the more positive scout for FedEx has much to do with their expansion into ground deliveries where margins are higher. Conversely for UPS, it is looking to expand into a market with lower margins.ConclusionAfter review of FedExs specific customer base, the risks that it takes, the problems of sudden demand, its rivals, and a possible scenario of stolen customers, it is evident that FedEx is well positioned for success in the future. Existing competition in the marketplace will continue to put pressure on FedEx to provide high levels of service at a competitive rate. Overall, Fed Ex is well positioned to serve as an industry leader.ReferencesDHL Company Website 2005, http//www.dhl.com.Federal Express Spreads its Wings 1988, Journal of Business Strategy, vol.9, issue 4,pp.15-21. Effects Valium has on Seizures :: Biology Essays Research Papers
Effects diazepam has on SeizuresMy sister is a victim of a disease called Rett Syndrome which causes her to have intense raptures. She is seventeen now and has had seizures her whole life. Having faced these for many years now, my parents have been through lots of different types of medications to help shell out and control her seizures. The newest type of medication is Valium and so I though that I would take this opportunity to learn more about it and its effect on seizures. First off, it is important to understand what a seizure is. A seizure is caused by abnormal discharge of electric stimulation in the brain. They may too be caused by salt imbalances in the blood, gastrointestinal disease, poisoning, head injury, brain disease such as a tumor, a malformed blood vessel, or anything that causes sudden lack of oxygen to the brain.((1).) Seizures are also grouped into different categories depending on how severe they are and also depending on which part of the brain is effected. For example, if the broad(a) brain is involved it is a infer seizure as opposed to if only a portion of the brain is effected and in that case the seizure is a partial seizure. ((2).) There are two types of partial seizures, simple partial and complex partial. There are also two types of generalized seizures, generalized absence (petit mal) and tonic-clonic (grand mal). The seizures that my sister has are tonic-clonic or grand mal, which are considered the most severe type of seizure to have. With a tonic-clonic seizure, there are two phases. In the tonic phase, the person loses consciousness and falls, as the body grows rigid. In the clonic phase, body extremities jerk and twitch. After the seizure, consciousness returns slowly. ((2).) Over the years, my sister has been through several(a) different medications whose intent was to control her seizure activity. A new type of treatment that her neurologist suggested trying is Valium (Diazepam). Valium is a drug that effect the lim bic, thalamic and hypothalamic regions of the central nervous system. ((3).) Valium slows the central nervous system and is used to treat anxiety related disorders and conditions that cause severe muscle spasms and convulsions. ((4).) Valium is administered rectally. Liquid Valium is absorbed fast from the rectum. The effect should take place 5-15 minutes after the injection.((3).) Valium should not be used on a daily basis because it can cause withdraw and it also has many other side effects.

America Must Move Forward into the Electronic Age of Voting :: Politics Political Science
America Must Move Forward into the Electronic Age of Voting The levels of intensity grew passim election night all across the nation. The respective parties gathered in discordant convention rooms all over the United States. The focus in the air could be felt as one entered the rooms hosted by any candidates party. As the evening progressed, one could ensure this would be a close election. November 7 is a day some people in America take for granted. I commit heard many times people muttering, my vote is not going to even make the difference so why should I vote? Many Americans dont feel their vote is important enough to even get off their butts to go and vote. However, as a political science major it is imperative to me to calculate my right to vote. Not only have people died fighting for rights such as this, but it also gives me the opportunity and the right to voice an opinion afterwards the election. If you dont vote what gives you the right to complain? Nothing. Since w e are a democracy we should not take the right to vote lightly and a considerable majority of Americans do.For some reason, this election proved to be different. The voter turnout percentages were higher than most election years. According to the www.msnbc.com the majority of votes come from retired people and military voters. College students throughout the past years have decreased percentage-wise in voter turnout. In 1996 the number of college students who cast their ballots had decreased 23% since 1992. Student Advantage Magazine (SAM) lists various issues for the decline in college voter turnout. The top two reasons SAM lists, as reasons for the dwindling numbers are apathy and laziness. However www.msnbc.com has stated with more students turn politically active, the numbers should increase in future elections. For example, voting numbers increased a small percentage for this election. Why are people voting now? Is it because we have good candidates running? Is it because Am ericans finally feel the pressure to get off their lazy butts and make it to the polls? Does it have anything to do with absentee ballots being used at the highest rate in our nations history?Americans tend to think in the manner, I will vote for this person if he wants what I want. At least they have substance on their reasons for voting for someone.
